Restaurant: Gordon Biersch
Location: 900 F Street NW Washington, DC 20004
Date: 10/21/10
Burger: Kobe Burger
Score: 17.8

Burger (10 pts): 6.6
Comments: The burger was Kobe beef, so it was good meat, but the expectations of Kobe beef were a letdown overall. The burger was very juicy, which was a positive with everyone there. The waitress said we couldn't order medium rare, which disappointed a few members. Overall a pretty decent burger, but nothing memorable.

"Reasonably juicy, but nothing that stands out. Flavor was ok." - Silverman

Bun (3 pts) : 2.3
Comments: The bun was toasted, crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. Needed sesame seeds though.

"Very fluffy inside with a somewhat toasted outside. Would have liked sesame seeds." - Canter

Cheese (3 pts): 1.3
Comments: There wasn't nearly enough cheese to make an impact against the burger. The taste was ok when you actually managed to get a bite with enough cheese in it to make a difference.

"decent flavor, not enough for the size of burger" - Flyer

Toppings (4 pts) : 1.3
Comments: The burger came with a slice of tomato and shredded lettuce. The shredded lettuce did not go over well with anyone there, and the tomatoes weren't very thick or very fresh. Toppings were not the best quality, and the lack of other options (like onions) was disappointing.

"Lettuce and tomato were uninspiring; at least the ketchup was standard" - Blank

Synergy (10 pts): 6.4
Comments: Gordon Biersch is a nice place. More upscale than your average burger joint but the atmosphere was good. The beer was pretty good, but the garlic fries stole the show. Whatever you get there be sure to get garlic fries as a side.

"Could have scored higher if the burger was of equal quality to the garlic fries" - Eide

Total (30 pts): 17.8
Comments: The burger itself was pretty good, and the bun received high regards. The toppings and cheese were sub-par. Luckily the garlic fries were there to save the day.

"Burger was good but a little overcooked and needed more cheese. The bun was good though. The toppings were disappointing at best. Good environment, good beer, great garlic fries." - Shuibert
